Blepharoplasty/Eyelift Beverly Hills

Blepharoplasty is a popular procedure that offers a way to restore the youthful and vibrant appearance of drooping or tired-looking eyelids. Fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon Dr. Natalie Attenello performs blepharoplasty at our office in Beverly Hills for patients who want to rejuvenate the appearance of their eyes.

The Benefits of Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty or eyelift procedure is an excellent treatment for heavy, tired appearing eyes. Heavy appearing eyes can be the result of excess eyelid skin that starts to droop as well as possible fat pads that start to bulge above the eyes. Both of these elements are addressed during an upper eyelid blepharoplasty procedure and can restore and refresh your eyes with the most natural-looking results. A lower eyelid blepharoplasty procedure helps improve excess lower eyelid skin, any ‘bags’ under your eyes, as well as any fat pads that appear to bulge out.

Am I a Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty is an excellent option for both men and women with drooping, puffy, or aged-looking eyelids. Patients with noticeable puffy bags underneath their eyes can correct the issue with lower blepharoplasty. Patients with heavily sagging and withered-looking upper eyelids can greatly benefit from undergoing upper blepharoplasty. Some patients also choose to combine their blepharoplasty with other facial rejuvenation procedures, like a facelift, for more dramatic results. Dr. Anttenello can let you know if combing your blepharoplasty with another procedure can provide you with the results you are looking for.

During the procedure

During the upper blepharoplasty procedure, the incision is hidden in the natural eyelid creases along the upper eyelid so that any post-surgical marks are hidden for more natural-looking results. For lower blepharoplasty. the incision are sometimes made behind your eyelid to hide any incision marks along the lower eyelid. Excess eyelid skin and any bulging fat are gently removed. Some fat is left in place to avoid giving the eyes a sunken or hollowed appearance. Sutures are then placed to close the incision. The blepharoplasty procedure usually takes between 1 – 2 hours if not combined with other procedures.

Blepharoplasty Recovery

Blepharoplasty usually has minimal pain afterward. Some swelling and bruising should be expected but usually improves greatly after about a week. We strongly recommend ice packs over the eyes to help resolve any swelling or bruising. Most patients feel comfortable returning to social settings after a week or even sooner by wearing sunglasses. We advise against any heavy exercising for two weeks after surgery.

Blepharoplasty Cost

Each blepharoplasty procedure is personalized to provide each individual patient with the care and results they are in need of. The cost of blepharoplasty depends on several factors and varies between patients base don the amount of work needed. Price and payment options can be addressed during the consultation process.
