Blepharoplasty/Eyelift Beverly Hills

A blepharoplasty or eyelift procedure is an excellent treatment for heavy, tired appearing eyes. Heavy appearing eyes can be the result of excess eyelid skin that starts to droop as well as possible fat pads that start to bulge above the eyes. Both of these elements are addressed during an upper eyelid blepharoplasty procedure and can restore and refresh your eyes with the most natural appearing results. A lower eyelid blepharoplasty procedure helps improve excess lower eyelid skin, any ‘bags’ under your eyes, as well as any fat pads that appear to bulge out.

During the procedure:

During the procedure, the incision is hidden in your natural eyelid crease or sometimes behind your eyelid if performed for the lower eyelid. Excess eyelid skin and any bulging fat are gently removed. Sutures are then placed to close the incision. The blepharoplasty procedure usually takes between 1 – 2 hours if not combined with other procedures.

Blepharoplasty usually has minimal pain afterwards. Some swelling and bruising should be expected but usually improves greatly after about a week. We strongly recommend ice packs over the eyes to help resolve any swelling or bruising. Most patients feel comfortable returning to social settings after a week or even sooner by wearing sunglasses. We advise against any heavy exercising for two weeks after surgery.
