Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft® Beverly Hills

Jump To

Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft® are a family of fillers composed of hyaluronic acid. This is a substance that naturally occurs in our body that provides volume and elasticity. With time, we lose this substance naturally and this leads to volume loss in certain areas, unwanted facial lines, and deep skin folds. The Restylane® family of products are created to help rejuvenate and smooth out unwanted facial lines and wrinkles as well as restore volume to the necessary areas.

Dr. Attenello is considered an expert in the field of non-surgical fillers and injectables and has published articles and book chapters in these specific areas. She strives to provide superior results that still appear very natural and balanced.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft®?
A: Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft® are all hyaluronic acid fillers but differ in their particle size of hyaluronic acid. Restylane Silk® is considered the smallest of the three products in the Restylane® family and thus is the softest and smoothest of them all. This is particularly good for areas such as the lips or fine facial lines as it is softest to touch. Restylane Lyft® has the biggest of the three particles and is thus considered a more robust filler. This product is excellent for treatment of volume loss such as in the cheek area as this filler is placed deeper in the tissue to provide the most effective volume restoration and therefore superior results. Restylane® is in between Restylane Silk® and Restylane Lyft® and thus is ideal for facial lines such as the smile lines (nasolabial lines) and tear trough regions (dark cricles under the eyes).

Q: Does Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft® hurt?
A: The majority of patients are able to tolerate this procedure very well. Additionally, our products have a mixture with lidocaine to help ease any discomfort. Dr. Attenello’s office also provides topical numbing cream as well as ice packs, which are both very helpful in making the procedure relatively comfortable.

Q: Does Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft® bruise?
A: Significant bruising is rare but some minor bruising is not uncommon. This bruising usually does not require any downtime and patients can easily cover up any discoloration with make up if needed. In the majority of patients, bruising is not a problem at all. Additionally, bruising and swelling differs between the areas of the face that are being treated. Naturally lips have thinner skin and more blood supply so lips treated with Restylane Silk® have a higher likelihood of bruising over other areas. Conversely, the cheek area that is commonly treated for volume restoration with Restylane Lyft® rarely has bruising or swelling because the product is placed deeper in the cheek and thus helps mask any swelling or bruising. Dr. Attenello’s office strives to attain the best results and understands that bruising can be inconvenient and pays extreme attention to details in the area to minimize as much bruising as she can.

Q: How long does it last?
A: Depending on which product is used (Restylane®, Restylane Silk®, and Restylane Lyft®), the product can last anywhere from 6-9 months up to 1.5 – 2 years.
