Removal of Excess Neck Fat

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that can be carried out to remove excess fat from the neck and chin area. If you have a “double chin”, this can be rectified by neck liposuction – you will see the results for yourself as you achieve a sleek neck, more defined with contours that are ideal for a great profile. Extra fat, accumulated over time, and sagging skin, becomes a thing of the past, as the fat is removed by means of a suction. A neck lift takes care of the sagging skin, and liposuction takes care of the flab in the neck. Usually, people opt for a combination of the two to ensure a really great overall appearance. During neck liposuction surgery, a tiny cut is made under the chin region. With the insertion of a minuscule cannula, fat is suctioned out. When all the fat required to be removed has been achieved, the incisions are sutured up.

The Procedure

There is very little scarring involved in this procedure. Several surgeons utilize what is called the “super wet” method of liposuction – a numbing solution is applied to the area of the incision, and a solution to control bleeding is blended with this. The surgery is done under general anesthesia. It is a minimally invasive surgery, but it is important to maintain a healthy diet to enhance healing, and sleeping must be done in a sitting position – there should be no pressure on the neck and chin areas. Results can be seen immediately after the procedure is complete, and healing is quite fast.
